Donut Falls

Donut Falls

DONUT FALLS is a cool waterfall in the Big Cottonwood Canyon near Silver Fork, east of Salt Lake City, Utah. Access is at the Mill D Trailhead. This waterfall is cool because it falls through a hole in the ceiling of a small cave and is accessible year-round. It is an easy hike but can be a little tricky near the cave. In June 2014, a 40-year-old woman died after falling 100 feet to the bottom of the falls while climbing a steep, rocky trail that goes above the falls. In the spring of 2003, another hiker died at the Falls, prompting the closure of the area. It is open again now. Photo copyright by Skip Weeks
