SINKING AUTUMN LEAVES
SINKING AUTUMN LEAVES

BUY BUTTON

Experience the beauty of nature through this unique piece of fine art photography. I was searching for magic in Liberty Park in Salt Lake City in the fall. There's a little pond at the south end of the park where ducks like to hang out and I had my eye on them for a while. Then I put my long 400mm lens on and spotted these three leaves just starting to sink in the surface of the pond. I loved the contrast of their colors and textures against the cool blue of the sky reflected in the surface of the water. They were perfect examples of autumn leaves; yellow, red, and gold. I knew that this meeting would be temporary, but I was glad that I could capture it and bring it home to share with you. I love how you can see the leaves resisting the water along their edges. But it won't be long until the leaves will be overcome by the water. They will be saturated and will sink to the bottom, forever out of sight.   Photo © copyright by Skip Weeks
